2016 King Estate Highwire Pinot Noir
Block 4C on King Estate uses a high trellis – High Wire – to train the vines high, allowing more exposure of the vine to the sun. This 100% Biodynamic wine is from the Colmar 538 clone originally from Alsace, France. Hallmarks of this grape are its dark fruit characteristics, spice and earthen tones, all found in this expression of classic Pinot Noir. Whole clusters were destemmed before being cold soaked for 48 hours. The deep garnet red color in the glass opens up to blackberry, cassis, tea leaves and baked bread on the nose. In the mouth the wine is fleshy with soft tannins and a balanced weight that finishes long, round and balanced. Aged 14 months in 25% new French oak. Enjoy now and at least through 2031.

2017 King Estate Steiner Block Pinot Gris
Sourced from a very small block on our estate vineyard, this Pinot Gris is certified Biodynamic® for both the agricultural and winemaking practices. The wine’s name pays tribute to Rudolf Steiner, the founder of the Biodynamic approach to agriculture that treats the farm as a complete, holistic ecosystem. Native fermentation began in stainless steel tanks and then was finished in our concrete egg-shaped tank. Stone fruit notes of peach and apricot are joined by lime, white rose and brioche. Aging in the concrete egg tank imparts a full mouthfeel and enhanced minerality. A round, soft entrance is balanced with acidity to create a long, full finish. Enjoy now and until at least 2027.

2017 Four Nobles Cuvée Blanc
Made with 100% Biodynamic grapes, this is the first Four Nobles white blend King Estate has produced. The “four noble” grapes originally come from the Alsace region of France. The grapes comprising this wine are Gewürztraminer (56%), Pinot Gris (34%), Riesling (7%) and Muscat (3%), all from the estate. Citrus, melon, spice and honey greet the nose and the palate picks up additional notes of pear and apple, peach, wet stone and lychee. The finish is true to the wines of Alsace with dry, crisp acidity cutting through with just enough roundness from sur-lee aging to create a balanced mouthfeel and a satisfyingly long finish. Enjoy now and through 2027.
