2013 King Estate Roserock Pinot Noir KE

Wines made from Roserock fruit are rich and complex with excellent aging potential. In addition to the cooler temperatures and unique terroir, Roserock vineyard was planted at very high vine densities which lead to low crop loads per vine and wonderfully concentrated flavors within the fruit. Each of these special characteristics is accented by Roserock’s dedication to sustainability, as they are a LIVE and Salmon Safe Certified vineyard.

Tasting Notes

We think you are going to enjoy this beautiful expression from Roserock. This dark ruby wine begins with refined aromas of ripe plums, sour cherry, cigar box and dark chocolate. Balanced tannins and soft French oak frame the flavors of strawberry, black cherry, cinnamon and clove. Pleasant acidity balances the vibrant fresh fruit flavors. Enjoy now until at least 2032.

Vineyard Notes

The 2013 growing season began with a warm spring which allowed early growth to progress nicely. Budbreak and bloom occurred ahead of the area average and the pleasant spring progressed into a sunny and mild summer. Near ideal conditions for most of the summer allowed vine growth and grape development to progress rapidly. Brief rainfall in August dissipated quickly and the weather remained superb until late September when harvest was temporarily halted due to heavy rains. Prior to September rains, the long summer allowed grapes to ripen nicely on the vine, and after the rain subsided, warm, Indian summer weather took us through the remainder of harvest.
