Located on southward facing slopes in the Eastern Chehalem Mountains AVA, Nicholas Vineyard is planted on 33 acres between 350 and 650 feet in elevation. Uncommon for the area, its soils are primarily Laurelwood, consisting of windblown loess over a well-drained, volcanic foundation. Praised for their reliable high quality fruit, Nicholas Vineyard consistently displays notes of ripe plum and dark cherry with lush, lingering tannins.

This limited-production Pinot Gris is first noticed for its flaxen color. Thee pale gold appearance gives way to a complex bouquet of wet stone, violets, white peach, and grapefruit elements. On the palate, a supple mouthfeel is accompanied by fresh pear and pineapple flavors, subtly enhanced by components of rose water and lime zest. is complex balance of fruit, minerality, and brightness leads to a smooth medium-long finish.  A golden bisque color in appearance, the 2015 Paradox Pinot Gris is as complex as it is unorthodox. Aging Pinot Gris in French oak barrels yields a wine with succulent vanilla and caramel notes, complemented by traditional fruit elements of apricot and cantaloupe on the nose. Subtle avors of butterscotch and pecan pie are expertly balanced to complement the honeysuckle and lemon zest components of an exceptional Pinot Gris.
